A forum and a network for debate and
information about rural development and the use of
nature
NOrdBruk is a NGO in
Sweden, which in cooperation with other
organisations will work for a sustainable use of
nature with social and cultural considerations,
nationally and internationally.
NordBruk wants to show the importance of the
rural life for the society and the
environment.
Because of the globalisation of the economy by
EU and WTO, there is a need for intensive
cooperation between organisations which like
NordBruk is working for similar goals in the Nordic
countries, Europe and worldwide.
The Nordic countries have in common a rather
small and wide spread population and rich nature
resources.
The advantages given by the Golf stream, the
midnight sun and the clean environment and the
today problems with the migration from the rural
areas to the cities are all the same for the Nordic
countries.
Because of such common aspects NordBruk have
started a cooperation with NBS - Norway and
P.M.R.Y. - Finland.
NBS, for instance, is a member of CPE, and CPE
is working with the international farmers movement
Via Campesina.
NordBruk gives a yearly prize to a person who
debates and inform in rural development and the use
of nature.
